imminent for many areas of the outdoor sector. Two years ago we had Sylvain
Chevassus, Project Manager for the Office of Consumption and production
managers, Commissioner General Sustainable Development, Department of Ecology,
Energy, Sustainable Development and the Sea from the French Government talk
about the intentions with Le Grenelle Environment.
Grenelle has now been piloted and we have
invited Sylvain back to talk to us about the next steps and what companies in
the outdoor sector need to be aware of.
This is an opportunity to find out what the
French system will finally look like and to ask questions about how your
company will be affected.

Outdoor sports are booming and membership in Alpine clubs has been on the increase for some years now. The expert forum will give an overview of the development of mountaineering activities with children and highlight the similarities and differences between Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The first part of the lecture is presented by the journalist Ulrike Arlt and aims at all retailers and purchasers showing the main trends for summer 2013. Based on the successful and reliable IDEAS colour forecast Nora Kühner, Secretary General of IDEAS, will present inspirations and colour trends for summer 2014.

Smart Textiles are textiles with additional functionality. One possible additional functionality is interacting with mobile devices via clothes. Using mobile devices typically require both tactile and visual senses. Limitation of these senses (e.g. by gloves) require easy to handle systems with low requirements for concentration. Control elements for intuitive operation without high visual or haptic attention which are worn near the body and are based on textiles will be presented.

Content Claims Standard and cover the work of the Down Task Group.

Group, including the launch of new tools for the retailer; Adrian Seger of
Historic Futures, experts in supply chain traceability will show what their
product STRING can offer to the sector and we will finish the morning with Director of Communications, David Willans from Futerra Sustainability
Communications. Futerra have recently published a report looking at the ability
of brands to make change happen. We trust brands to guide everyday habits and decisions,
from doing laundry to the joy of choosing a new car or a jacket that will
perform on a mountain. Brands deal in status, empathy and emotion. We all take
brands home with us. The brands ability to influence behaviour is remarkable.
By evaluating brand ratings against rankings on
sustainability indices Futerra has uncovered the top one hundred businesses
with the potential to lead on encouraging sustainable behaviours.
In his presentation David will outline the three

Based on extensive consultation and feedback from brand owners in the outdoor footwear and apparel market and combined with successful deployments of the a Workbook solution with customers in North America, Australasia and Europe, John will share some of the case studies that illustrate best practice, common pitfalls, current needs and future wants.

The objective of this lecture is to give an overview of the current scientific data on the effectiveness of outdoor exercise and to highlight the health effects, bearing in mind the topic “Lack of exercise in childhood and adolescence” and the resulting implications from “friluftsliv” with children and youths.
